Cyclescheme and Bike2WorkScheme back the government initiative to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution. This Act allows employers to loan cycles and cyclists’ safety equipment to employees as a tax-free benefit.
With these schemes, you can get a tax-free bike with accessories, which for most people means they save about 42% of the original cost. Plus if you cycle to work you could save up to £1,175 in travel expenses, over a year.
Improve Your Health
Cycling to work helps you stay fit and healthy, burns a lot of calories, and reduces your carbon footprint too. For example, if you commute 5 miles to work and back 5 days a week, you will burn about 2336 calories a week. That’s equivalent to about 5.84 hours in the gym. By not using the car, over the course of a year you are also saving about 178 kg of CO2!

Many employers opt for Cyclescheme or Bike2WorkScheme to take ownership of the bikes at the end of the hire term, in which case any offer sale to the employee will come directly from Cyclescheme or Bike2WorkScheme.
